Plant Parlor started with a simple belief: everyone deserves a beautiful, thriving plant in their home — and a real person to help them get there.
How It All Started
Michele's love of plants began at age ten, tending her grandmother's garden and learning firsthand that plants respond to patience, attention, and care. That early passion never left her.
At sixteen she took a job at Frank's Nursery, where she deepened her knowledge of houseplants and discovered a genuine talent for matching the right plant to the right person. After relocating to Lancaster, she continued seeking out beautiful, uncommon varieties — and slowly, her four-bedroom home filled with the thriving plants she loved.
It wasn't long before friends and neighbors started asking where they could get plants like hers. That's when Plant Parlor was born. Michele sells her well-loved, carefully tended plants directly from her home — no storefront, no overhead — which means she can keep prices fair and give every customer the kind of personal attention a big-box store never could.
How We Source Our Plants
We don't buy from mass wholesalers. Every plant in our collection comes from small, trusted growers we've visited in person.
Small-batch growers
We work with independent nurseries and specialty growers who share our obsession with plant health and quality.
In-person selection
We visit our growers regularly to hand-select plants — not just place orders. If it doesn't meet our standard, it doesn't come home with us.
Quarantine & care
Every new arrival spends time in our care before going on sale. We repot each plant into fresh soil, do a thorough root check for healthiness, inspect for pests, nurse any stress, and make sure each plant is truly ready.
